Casco y Capa

Después de mil años unos avances.

Hoy pinte la capa con una mezcla básica aquí unas fotos aunque todavía esta fresca y brillante hay que esperar unos días a que se apague el brillo.

En el casco aplique como color base Dark Iron de Mr Metal Gunze, deje que secara y le di una pulida (cualidad de estas lacas se pueden pulir) aunque en la foto no se aprecia mucho ya se ira notando en las siguientes fases.

Aquí una pequeña actualización del avance en el busto, va lento pero muy lento por que apenas me queda tiempo entre trabajo y familia ni modo así es esto ; )

Se muestra el pectoral con ensamble y pintura mas avanzado, no fue fácil  montar la parte de la bufanda; creo que a la pieza le faltaban unos soportes que lleva el torso en donde esta asienta pero gracias al libro de referencia en el que me estoy apoyando "Roma Victrix, The roman army in miniature" un manual de modelismo de figuras de la editorial Andrea Press dedicado exclusivamente a una serie de piezas romanas pude apreciar estos soportes en una foto con lo que evite un dolor de cabeza en el futuro al momento de unir la capa y cabeza con el resto del busto.

Aunque probablemente requiera un cierto ajuste ya me enfrentare a esto cuando sea el momento pero definitivamente la corrección sera menor.

En la siguiente foto muestro lo horrible que se ve el busto por la parte trasera ya que esta todo "hueco" por decirlo de alguna manera.

La mayor parte de esta bastarda vista sera absorbida por la capa al momento de su colocación pero aun queda el detalle de los horribles huecos que se aprecian en las mangas estoy pensando en rellenarlos (aun no se con que)  ya que cuando ves la figura desde un angulo inferior ¡se ve de la patada! hasta este momento he pensado en algodón ya que es muy tarde para hacer un relleno formal con masilla o espuma = [

Hasta aquí el update, diciembre promete mas tiempo para dedicarle al hobby y nuevos proyectos a empezar ya sea para aumentar los que están en proceso o para terminar en este 2013 = ) ya veremos.

Como favor a un amigo para ayudarle con un proyecto de figura en el que esta me ha pedido le pinte la cara de esta figura en escala 1/16 de la marca Verlinden.

Espero poder poner rapidamente un avance paso a paso de la pintura de la misma ya que no llevara mucho tiempo, de momento les pongo como luce la pieza ya con las primeras capaz de una base acrilica de flat flesh de Modelo Color de Vallejo posteriormente viene la base de oleos y el trabajo de luces y sombras.

As a favor to a friend to help with a project, he asked me to paint the face of this figure in scale 1 / 16 from  Verlinden

I hope to make progress quickly step by step of painting,   it will  not take much time. By the moment I put a pic of the head for you to see how looks here is just painted the first coats of acrylic flat flesh from Vallejo Model Color and later comes the  base with oil and the work of lights and shadows.

More progress and a little relax

Como suele ser comun en muchos de los que trabajamos queda poco tiempo para dedicarle al modelismo asi que las cosas han ido bastante calmadas desde la ultima entreda.

Aqui una vista general de busto con las mangas blancas en color base, asi como las siguientes fotos que muestran la preparacion para la pintura de la capa, casco y "bufanda" tambien con el color base blanco espero el proximo fin de semana llevar la pieza mas cerca a su conclusion.

As is common in many of us who work have little time to devote to modeling so things have been pretty calm since last post

Here an overview of the bust with base color white sleeves, as well as the following pictures showing the preparation for the painting of the coat, helmet and "scarf" also with the white base color I hope next weekend to take the piece closer to its conclusion.

 

Ahora voy a hacer una segunda entreda del blog, me ha regalado un amigo de la secundaria un modelo que tenia olvidado y me eh dado a la tarea de terminarlo,asi tambien pienso  tomarlo como un cambio de aire y un tipo relax entre puras figuras = ) asi que anoche acompañado de mi bebe de 2 años y medio me dispuse en mi mesa de trabajo a reiniciar el modelo, lo primero fue pegar y repegar los pasos basicos que ya se habian iniciado, lo estare trabajando por las noches a modo de distraccion y ya veremos que tal queda.

Hey, Finally an update

2003!! the year of my born as Figureteer!, the first time I saw this bust was in the Andrea miniatures Catalog I was very impressive since that time it converted in part of my eternal wish list lol, now last year I got it for a good price the dream come true.

Kit Review

Very high detail in all the parts and great packing, you can note the resin coat only this its not made in metal

Wonderfull face sculpting, hope make honnor to the sculptor; not identify by manufacturer BTW

The plastic bag with feathers for the Crista Transversa, and the Chain mail wich is not a solid piece just "front", big hole inside sure for save casting material.

Part of the helmet really heavy, great detail as well

The Sleeves come separate from the body too

Other accessories

Now some pics ofthe painting process:

The face painting as usual with a base in acrilics then just pure oils.
If you want the Mix let me know
The mouth need tone down the lips and add some high light, the left side of the nose its less red than the other, the beard its more dark than you see (bad light) but might require some high lighs, have to paint the eyebrows and some touch on the left cheek got a spot to clean, after that guess it will be done.

I usually not use so much contrast, its my way to paint and i like that way =D

                                      

The chain mail so far just basecoat in black, chrome silver laquer from gunze in dry brush and for the shadows used a pencil 2b "colouring" with it the shadows, after all this still need a ligh wash in sepia or black and will be ready.

 Next to paint (hope soon) sleeves in white, belts in brown leather with diferents levels of wear after that I´ll continue with accesories, helmet crista and feathers etc.
